TCP Founder & Conceptual Architect

Xolani Hadebe

President & CEO

Visionary | Systems Builder | High Impact & Transformation Strategist

Xolani Hadebe is the Founder and Conceptual Architect of TCP, a tech-enabled socio-economic platform that empowers resilient and high-potential Not in Employment, Education or Training (NEET) young people from the disadvantaged, rural and underserved communities to unlock their potential and soar into future-fit and elite professions through progressive and integrated academic, workplace and professional pathways.

Xolani was born in Hambanathi Township oThongathi, KwaZulu-Natal, 40 kilometres north of Durban. The area’s economy historically developed around sugarcane cultivation and evolved into a hub supporting one of South Africa’s largest sugar-producing districts.

As a talented learner, he distinguished himself through academic excellence, discipline and leadership, earning the respect of peers and educators alike. Driven by a strong sense of responsibility, he supplemented his family’s household income by working as a golf caddie at a nearby golf club during weekends and school holidays. Although modest, these earnings became seed capital for a microenterprise, signalling the early emergence of a resourceful and entrepreneurial mindset and a propensity for successful enterprise-building.

Through early exposure, career guidance, mentorship and scholarship support, Xolani progressed from a small-town classroom to the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), where he enrolled in a pre-university academic support programme as a bridge into a Bachelor of Commerce degree.

After Wits, he joined Kessel Feinstein (now Grant Thornton) to complete his articles of clerkship. He subsequently became part of a consortium and the inaugural Chief Executive Officer of a franchise holding rights to the General Electric Lighting licence across Africa, Australia and the Middle East. Within five years of operation, the business was successfully sold to a subsidiary of an Australian-based entity.

He went on to establish a boutique business advisory and strategic consulting firm, serving a targeted and select portfolio of long standing and trusted engagements. Operating independently and alongside leading global and emerging local firms, he delivered operational excellence and transformative process reengineering, unlocking investment and driving the broader economic growth of post democratic South Africa.

Guided by a deep commitment to inclusive development, especially for the youth, Xolani founded TCP to expand access to opportunity by designing and offering alternative, complementary, well-structured, fully funded and technology-enabled pathways into academic progression, workplace-based practical training and professional integration for talented and top-performing Maths and Science matriculants with high potential and resilient graduates who are NEET youth and originate from the disadvantaged, rural and underserved communities.

TCP is underpinned by his conviction that with opportunity and structured support, identified young talent with high potential, irrespective of circumstance, can transcend limits, positively transform their life trajectories and soar to new heights.

Mr. Sandile Zungu

Chancellor of Mangosuthu University of Technology (MUT)

Visionary Leader | Entrepreneur | Role Model | Pathfinder| Nation Builder

Hard work pays its dues, and integrity sustains gains.”

Sandile Zungu, our Advocate and Trailblazer, is a living embodiment of our vision that talent, when nurtured, can transcend circumstance. From Umlazi to Hilton College, Africa’s most prestigious preparatory school; on to the University of Cape Town (UCT), Africa’s top-ranked university; and then Harvard Business School, a globally distinguished institution to refine his leadership. His journey proves that with access to opportunities, guidance and mentorship, and belief; young people from underserved communities can rise to become leaders shaping the future of their nation and the world.

Sandile Zungu began his life journey in Umlazi Township, 20 kilometres south of Durban, in circumstances similar to those of many high-potential, resilient and talented young people from underserved communities today. Brimming with promise, they often confront structural barriers and uncertainty about the path ahead.

Following his excellent matric results, Sandile earned a scholarship to an innovative post-matric, pre-university programme at a Hilton College, which is renowned for academic distinction and leadership cultivation. This was a transformative bridge which laid the solid foundation which prepared him for the rigours of higher education. It was during this period that he cultivated enduring values “courage, respect, humility, compassion, accountability and honesty”, all underpinned by integrity, which continue to guide his leadership instincts to this day.

He then enrolled at UCT where he excelled in a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a Master of Business Administration. He honed his global leadership perspective through the Program for Global Leadership at Harvard Business School.

Today, Mr Sandile Zungu is a respected leader in society and a successful investor. He serves as Chancellor of Mangosuthu University of Technology, President of AmaZulu Football Club, and provides strategic leadership and direction to the family’s investment company, Zico – Zungu Investment Corporation. His influence spans business, academia and sport, anchored firmly in ethical leadership, excellence and nation-building.

Sandile’s journey is living proof that future-fit, post-matric pathways unlock potential and transform promise into extraordinary achievement. His story affirms TCP’s philosophy: “With access, structure and belief, young people can transcend circumstance and soar to new heights.”
